I was talking to my recruiter today about how I wanted to be a corpsman in the Navy and he said that corpsman is a very sought after job, so I was wondering, whenever I go to MEPS and choose my jobs, can I DEP in for corpsman and stay in the DEP until it's available? Or can I only go in for it if it is available at that time

If you are wanting to become an FMF green side Corpsman with the Marines you will need to get that in your contract Guarantee Or you may end up working at a clinic or hospital.

At the end of the day, if you want HM and are qualified for HM, make sure you get your contract in writing. You do not want to go to Recruit Training thinking you are going to A School when you’re actually a non-rate.

So you want to be a corpsman? The way it works is as follows; Go to meps and get qualified for service. Once you are qualified you will see a Navy Career Counselor who will assist you in picking your rate. If HM is not available, then tell them you would like to wait and come back later. Your recruiter will help you further with this process. Do not fold, wait until HM is available. Feel free to message me if you need a hand. I’m prior enlisted.
