How does the process go for an individual wanting to reclass for their reenlistment?

I will be in my reenlistment window this February and I am wanting to look into possibly retraining into a new MOS. From what I've seen, my current MOS (92A), is allowing SSG's to leave. I did see that it was for non-airborne qualified soldiers only. I am airborne qualified but I have a no jumping profile. Will that allow me to reclass? Another question, how does the reclass process work? Do I simply submit a 4187 to the MOS that is at the time accepting SSG's in and wait for their acceptance or denial?

You are in an overstrength MOS you can do a Voluntary reclass at any time you've had a year on station. Your career counselor will process it. You won't get 88K, there just aren't class seats for it an almost never are. Reclass isn't a matter of whether an MOS is accepting people, it's a matter of what class seats are available at the time you're requesting.
I'm not an expert on the Reclass process. But if you do go 88K be aware that even if you are a SSG when you come out of the school house you are a 10 level for training. When on the boats you work at your level of training. If a SP4 has gone to 20 school he will be in charge of you on the boat. Until you graduate 20 school you will be starting over at the bottom handling lines scraping paint ect.....

Thank you for your response. Based off of what you said regarding school seats, does that mean I can request a reclassification into any MOS and if they have a school seat I am able to reclass? Regardless of their In/Out calls?
Hopefully that clears it up a bit.
