Does anyone know how the Worldwide Individual Augmentation System (WIAS) works? The link on OMPF seems to be dead.

I'm currently looking into this. Did you have any luck making contact with Mr Feagins? It looked like the link was very old.

For SFC and below, each ACOM handles the WIAS taskers. HRC handles MSG and SGM WIAS requests. Your best bet is to contact your career branch at HRC to let them know what you are looking to do. Your assignment manager can look for opportunities that fit your requests.

Work through your G-3/5/7. If you're in USARPA call [login to see] . You will need command nomination/approval. We can assist.

I've read the article sir, can active duty volunteer for WIAS tasks to contingency operations? Should I contact your team about wanting to volunteer?

SGT Furstenberg, yes please contact the FORSCOM WIAS team. You'll hear from SSG Haig, MSG Ridenour, or MAJ Starcher. You can find SSG Haig's email at the milSuite forum, linked in the article. It's easy if the unit you belong to is subordinate to FORSCOM, as our team can facilitate the taskings to be assigned to the Corps or Major Subordinate Command that your unit belongs to, and also indicate a by-name-request to fill the individual augmentee requirement.
