How Does This Soldier's Message Make You Feel?

It's not his decision to make. NATO has not/is not sending troops to fight in Ukraine. Considering this soldier already served in combat with the 101st, I won't call him a coward. If the U.S. were to commit troops to this war, he would be going. If he decides to go AWOL, he will be found, and incarcerated.

I retired 10 years ago with that uniform. I also believe that this version was "phased out" at least 5 years ago. So with the currency of the sign and the fact he is in a discontinued uniform I call "BS" on this being someone on active duty.

First of all, we aren't actually going to the Ukraine because we don't want to kick off a world war - if you can't understand that then you aren't military material. Secondly, anyone who makes the statement; "it is not our fight/war" - if a nation doesn't stand for something and support it's allies, said nation is not worthy of respect on the world stage.
Third, you can hide your face when stating your opinion but it does not mean people won't know who you are, nor does it hide your cowardice. Real soldiers understand that if a people's freedom is at risk that it is just the beginning.
Lastly, for a person of color to speak against aid for a marginalized people who protested with people of color from the US during BLM protests - you obviously don't see that they are fighting, to not be slaves; learn your history...

This soldier needs an education! Everything that happens in this world affects other countries, including the US. If this idiot hasn’t figured that out yet then he better get out of the army now! If he is a conscientious, objector, fine, don’t fight do something else useful like be a medic on the front lines. Either way you signed up and took an oath. Perhaps you should go back and read what that oath is.
Why hide behind a sign? If you have something to say, and you’re going to post it in uniform, at least grow a set and drop the sign below your face.
He probably doesn’t even know what happened in 1939… Let alone, World War II! Get an education.

The military is a war machine. If you don't want to do our Country's bidding, then you shouldn't be in it (that is, the military nor this Country). Contrary to popular opinion or belief by some, it is not just a 9 to 5 job where you get to retire early on the tax payers (38 instead of 63) with a good retirement reaping all kinds of benefits provide by the Country you sold yourself to. You may be asked to do something for your Country. Patriotism is not conditional. You either have it or you don't, and this individual evidently doesn't have it. He can not be depended on and these types should be put out of the military rather than some of those not taking the covid shots. Macho is John Wayne and Charles Bronson not Pee Wee Herman, and this is a Pee Wee Herman! I wouldn't want to have anything to do with someone like this, let alone as a friend. In fact I despise them. whether you like it or not, for those bennies, even if that is all you are in it for. No one should be in the military if they are not willing to do what is asked of them and whole heartedly. Patriotism is not something conditional. People didn't like me when I joined the military during Vietnam out of high school, and I still don't like those kinds of people who stayed in college to stay out of the war or that went to Canada at that time. I can not kick them out of this country but I can deem them 2nd rate citizens and cowards. The regular soldier should be like a ranger not a panniewaist but then look at our Country since the Reagan / Bush era, not meaning baby Bush. They all betrayed our Country because they either hated it and used our Military to get rich or whatever!
