How Does This Soldier's Message Make You Feel?

Message sucks!! When you join the Military, you are no longer under the Constitution. You are under the UCMJ. At least this was true in 1963 when I joined the Marines, fought in the Dominican Republic and Vietnam.

Ignorant of history and the military. Where would we be if France shared that sign during our Revolutionary War.

Ok so I’m not 100% sure but are there any other units out there still wearing acu’s? I do agree that this is a very cowardly move but I believe this individual is no longer in the military and is just trying to troll everyone.

Although I feel the same way, its inappropriate to make these type of demonstrations in uniform (assuming this is a real soldier in a real uniform).

Stating what you won't do, like this, just means you're in the wrong line of work.

It is an old uniform which tells me it is someone who is already out of the service.

Time for you to pick a new career field. You are, obviously, unsuited to wear the country’s uniform.

I'm all for having an opinion. After all, my husband and I fought for the right to free speech. HOWEVER...as a member of the military, we knowing give up certain rights at times. Being in uniform, we are not to speak against our government or our Commander in Chief, regardless of how we feel about either. If we want to publicly voice our opinions, we must reflect positively upon the uniform and our nation. I fully encourage public discourse. I also encourage sharing your viewpoint and thoughts with friends, family, and even coworkers. But when you put on that uniform, you do NOT disgrace it by doing something like this. And this individual was quite cowardly to share his thoughts by hiding behind the sign. He's obviously well aware that his command staff would NOT be pleased with him making these statements in this manner, so he blocked his identity. I truly hope he is identified and his post is addressed, if this hasn't happened already.

I support your right to express your views; however, when you do it in uniform you, at a minimum, may violate Army policy and possibly elements of the Hatch act. Pull the post down and hope nobody can ID you Specialist.
