How easy is it to go active duty as a nurse and transition to FNP?

I am thinking about going back to active duty as a nurse but want to end up doing FNP. Can I transition from nurse to NP? I'm looking at Army and possibly Navy.

I've just become active army as an FNP, but I joined through the HPSP program. If you receive the scholarship, you're a reservist getting your school and school supplies paid for while receiving a stipend. Then when school is over, you go active for a 3 year obligation (for FNP specifically).
I do know of active army nurses who applied for the FNP program at USUHS in Bethesda. For FNP, I believe you already have to be an active duty nurse to apply for the program. I think it might be extremely selective, but it’s probably one of the best programs I’ve ever heard of.

You would probably be better off doing the MSN now, while you are part time military. Once on active duty as a RN, you would have little time for quality learning .
