PFC (Join to see) - If masks work, and people in China had been wearing them for decades... how did we get that COVID outbreak? All those masks should have contained it.

CPT (Join to see) I didn't say China I specifically stated Japan in my comment above. The Chinese wear masks because of poor air quality an pollution. An honestly we still don't know where covid originated. It could have been here, it could have been in Europe it could have been in China. It could have came from bats or a lab accident. When it flared up in China before it went global no one was wearing masks everyone gathered I'm wuhan for the holidays but specifically the lunar near year. China locked down wuhan right around the new year for them end of January beginning of February. The government at the time was trying to not only hide the outbreak from the world but from their own people. It wasn't until it couldn't be contained did they even say something. Now in China everyone is wearing masks they wear them indoors on public transit an in places of leisure. I know because I have a very good friend who lives in Chengdu.

Not exactly comparing apples to apples. Smallpox had only one Vector, us. This is one of the few diseases where both the vaccine and or naturally achieve immunity gave permanent protection (although I have had the dam thing three times), so when the last case in humans was gone, it went away. I don't know of another that is true. Polio Vaccine is effective, but the virus is common and comes back if you stop vaccinating. Measles, Flu or most of the rest are not 100% effective, wear off with time and have other vectors. It's not easy to find, but the majority of the Measle outbreaks in the US are the results of Breakthrough Infection with already vaccinated people.

On the one side of the argument there are people like ME that want to get past all this immunity BS so that when ONE kid in the house gets stick, by association I don't have to keep all the other kids home as well.
Then............ on the other side of the argument are people like ME that realize the government pushing this vaccine is the same government that handed out Small Pox infected blankets (oh....... too far back in history) and introduced LSD to unwitting service members (yes, still in the lifetime of many here).
I suppose the risk of not getting vaccinated are higher than not.
I also suppose that the pharmaceutical industry is making BANK!!!!!!! on this pandemic vaccine.
