I re enlisted to reclass to 15T, my school date is March of 2021 and I am currently deployed. How far out from my school date does my unit have to send me back? Also am I able to PCS to my next duty station before the reclass AIT if I already have orders? And how do I find out if I am TDY En route or TDY return? My current unit and my current s1 isn’t very much help, they can’t give me much information other than that 30 days is enough to clear and move to Hawaii.

All MOS retraining is TDY enroute. If you have dependents you’ll be authorized to choose to return to clear after training, it’s still TDY enroute even if you return to clear. If you don’t have dependents you will clear prior to reporting to AIT. You will need to do your levy packet, get your physical orders, and get a manual DD1610 approved with your Line of Accounting approved from your Division prior to reporting.

I guess I misinterpreted it then! So I’ll be able to choose between clearing before or after the school?

SGT (Join to see) if you have dependents then it is one of the things you have to choose as part of your levy packet

I was deployed when I got selected for OCS. I found the appropriate reg and learned that I had to be back stateside no less than 90 days prior to my report date. I let my chain of command know (showed them the reg) and I was allowed to go home early with "Torch party" so that I would have enough time to clear and PCS to Fort Benning (yeah, I don't know why I was PCSed, as I had been branched Engineer by DA, but I was. Heck my PCS orders had my rank as 2LT, which the ACT system still lists me as)

Do you by chance remember the reg? I looked through one about travel and didn’t find anything in there

Since you have a school date you can apply for 160th already and get your follow on assignment narrowed down to 3 locations.

I have actually wanted to get into 160th since before I even signed this contract! I contacted a recruiter, he emailed back stating I needed to raise my GT score in order to qualify, so I raised my GT score to 112 and have emailed him 2-3 times and have not got a response back in over a month now. I still want to apply for 160th. I came up on orders for Wheeler AAF and if 160th didn’t work out right away I wanted to use Hawaii to go to jungle school

Hello SGT Nick, in reference to your PCS Orders, you might want to touch base with your personnel representative, that's what they are there for, they are suppose to keep you informed of your next transition. If your on one of those classified deployment assignments, you just may or shall I say be deferred, I'm not real clear as to what type of deployment your currently on. Also, I'm not sure if everything has drastically changed in the personel field since I've been in, but, usually the rule of thumb was you would go to your new MOS training first! your orders should also reflect how long you will be in TDY status. Upon completion, you orders will also reflect your new duty station and your reporting date as well. Again, if I were you! I would go an make contact with my PAC personnel to get clear clarity as to how you are suppose to move forward with all the above mentioned. Make sure you stay on top of this Nick! particularly if you already have a class date. This use to be my area of expertise when I was in the military, all the best to you :-) .

Hi Nick!
This is your PAC representative within your company, this is the individual that handle all of soldiers administration paperwork such as 4187's, EER's, Asngmts, OER's etc., they handle everything for the company and then forward it up to the next level for processing. If this does not work, which it suppose to, the final stop is DA. This is the Headquarters for everything located in DC. As last resort, you will need to get your contact MOS assignment personnel on the phone for final clarity. This is where everything is generated
and sent down through channels right into your Battalion, this use to be called a "Twix Msg.", I'm not for sure if they still call it that, it maybe called something different now. However, it's nothing but a hard copy of instructions coming from DA.
