How hard is it to go from shadow 200 to gray eagle? Can you request a switch or are you stuck where you are?

From what it looks like I have the shadow 200 for when I got to AIT IN April. I did drop a 160th SOAR packet if that helps with anything. Can I talk to my cadres or the school house and request to transfer sinsce the shadow school is shorter. Anything will help.

You’ll be guaranteed a grey eagle slot if your 160th packet goes through. I’m in 5th group myself here in Campbell and may or may not request 160th after a deployment so I can dual platform.

So they are working to make two MOS one for Shadow and one for GreyEagle. With that being said if you get selected for 160th they have the funds and ability to train you as a GreyEagle operator.

So from what I’ve learned back when I was in the school house is that everything is chosen at random. If you’re chosen as a shadow operator then you will finish as a shadow operator. The only hope of changing platforms is that your new unit will send you, or request it as a reenlistment requirement. At the moment 160th is only taking grey eagles so your packet can go through but they will tell you to qualify in get eagle first.

If your in the school already you'll most likely stay in that course. In the future you can probably switch, for me i asked for the grey eagle course as a part of my reenlistment.
