Our issues have not done well in the House and Senate. It's solely because we don't join together on our issues. The American Heroes COLA Act is the latest bill. The hasn't gone down in defeat yet we can get it passed, but you have to get involved. You have to contact the Senators on the VA oversight committee by writing, calling, and E-mailing each of them. You also need to contact your State's Senate delegation. Push the passage of the bill and push these three amendments. A 25% disability pay raise, quality of life payments for veterans that have a service connected disability rating of 60% or more by using the disability scale making awards proportionate to the veterans disability rating, and maximum pension payments to veterans with a service connected disability rating of 100% or more and are not receiving any military retirement pay. When we don't stand together this what happens http://usuncut.com/politics/happy-veterans-day-5-times-republicans-in-congress-screwed-veterans

SOoooo, if a 20 year (straight active duty) retiree receives 10% VA Disability, then that veteran does not deserve/is not worthy to be included as part of this "American Heroes COLA Act "........? Who is getting the short end of the stick? Yet the expectation is to support a Bill that is "Not Inclusive" of All Veterans awarded VA Disability (From 10% to 100%).???? "We All Stand 100% Together Or We Fall Short".......Believe One Thing For Sure, This Is No Less Than Failure........
Also, the House and the Senate knows this as well.......Change the Bill to reflect 10% to 100% and maybe It will get some traction. Otherwise, God Bless and I Pray for All Success either way.
"Semper Fi"......

How have Veterans issues fared in the House and Senate?

The issue is not whether one party is for or against the military, and veterans, in general. it is because they use it as an add on to other legislation that is desirable to the agenda that is more important to them. Another point to be used by one side or the other. It's unfortunate that all legislation relating to something as critical as the defense of our nation could not be voted as a single bill. Then we could see who is for and against the military.

Need a lot of attention. With the TOP DOWN pressure, Covering one's 6 might be the order of the day now. I'm out of the loop as far as the response from the DOD side.
