How important is it to contribute to, versus consume from, society and culture?

Our society would be better off if we all thought of ways we could contribute rather than ask what society could do for us. It's like JFK said, "ask not what your country could do for you, but what you could do for your country." We would benefit as while if everyone took this approach.

It is very important to contribute to society. A number of us help children grow in their faith at church, and I help out with youth when I can in various areas of interest.

It's very important to contribute & also consume & absorbe different cultures & learn & enrich your knowledge but for both of those you can contribute badly with what you have to I've might not be what's best for the world (please no more trendy restaurants) & also just getting caught up in the wrong culture .
