This really depends on what you are looking for in a home. I lived on post for 3 years and then moved off post for my last year at Drum. On post housing in convienent in the winter, but it has many draw backs in my opinion. I lived in the old housing in Rhicard Hills. Had to deal with flooding twice. Multiple maintence calls on the same issues that never really got resolved. The ladies at the leasing office were nice when i moved in and quickly became rude and nasty. No one was really helpful until i told them i was moving off post. I went from a 7 min drive to almost 30 min drive. I moved to Carthage. Love the area i moved to nice village and great schools if you have children. For me it was worth the drive and I was much more comfortable in the snow after 2 years. This is only a decision you can make depending on what is important to you in your home.
