It really depends on your personality and performance bud. I was always a joker and very open and outgoing, my experience was very good in the unit. Some others folks were great at what they do, but just not the right fit. There is no cookie cutter answer.

I had a TL that came from 3rd Bat and said the exact same thing. It’s all about personality.

Just go for it and see for yourself. Nobody here knows you, so even if they've spent time in Batt, they aren't going to be able to articulate "how things are day to day" because your "day to day" is going to depend a lot on how well you mesh with the unit and everyone in it. Same as any other Infantry unit, to be honest. Some people fit right in and excel in one place, and not so much in another. If you don't fit in, you'll either be pushed out or hate your time there and move on when you can.

Why not just go for it? If it’s not for you just get out in 3 years

Roger SSG that's some good advice. I think I want to just go to Rasp. Couldn't hurt.

Seriously guy, if you had a RANGER standing next to you in formation and asked the same question he is not going to tell you much, so don't expect much here. You should know by now Soclal Media sites are watched by SOCOM. If not then I guess I am the first to tell you. SPECIAL FORCES is the same way, though SF actually signs a confidentiality agreement not to tell others externally what they do without express permission of the Pentagon.

SPC Erich Guenther Roger. That makes sense. I guess I just need to go for it and get to Rasp! Best way to find out.

SPC (Join to see) - Good luck you have the advantage starting as Infantry because your already in above average shape for Regular Army but you still need to train hard to get up to RANGER PT levels.

This is open source. It sounds like Ranger school is going to be a lot harder than Special Forces due to the lack of downtime and lack of sleep. I know of two officers who graduated from Ranger school and both of them took over a month to recuperate. Another didn't graduate and ended up in the hospital. This is kind of like the master's degree of Infantry. Do your best to get in shape. I am not a ranger but this should help you a lot.

LTC Stephen Conway - Thats initial training which is OK to discuss. He asked about after training which......they are not going to tell you much after training what they do. The course cirriculum for both initial courses is also published in books.
