I graduate from my AIT at Fort Sam Houston on March 25, and my orders say I report to my unit on April 18. Are the time between March 25 and April 18 considered unpaid leave days? Would I be in any trouble for not reporting prior to the 18th?

If you’re only taking 10 days of leave upon graduation, then you will report no later than midnight of the last day of your leave even if it’s sooner than the 18 April report date. If you have enough days to take leave through the report date, then make sure you sign in no later than midnight on 18 April. I hope this helps, good luck to you.

The only unpaid leave in the military is AWOL. You should have no problem with early reporting. None-the-less, see you S1 section and they will square you away.

They are chargeable leave minus the amount of days it takes you to get there. 350 miles=1 travel day. You can sign in early if you don't want to use that much leave.
