How likely are 75th Ranger Regiment opportunities without an Op40?

I just enlisted as an 11x, but I wasn’t eligible for an Op40 because I had to get a waiver for a mild astigmatism. If I’m squared away in all areas, how likely is it that I’ll be able to make it into the 75th?

While I was in osut ranger cadre came and took volunteers toward the end of the cycle, they didn't even check pt scores or anything

You won’t need an option 40 and it’s really better if you don’t. Anyone can volunteer any time to try out for RASP. While you’re at Basic volunteer for Airborne. At Airborne volunteer for RASP. If you don’t get Airborne, volunteer for RASP at your first unit.

Look option 40 is not a guarantee= you still have to pass the school and be selected. Rangers normally do sales pitches at AIT's, sign up, that way if not selected you can lose.

When I was in basic training, there were many chances as an infantryman to volunteer for Airborne, RASP, or SF. I believe those who had 250-270 APFT scores were talked to about Airborne or RASP and those with 270-300+ were talked to about SF.
