SPC (Join to see) There will be a unit/location specific SOP on the barracks. It will outline prohibited items and which items are permitted relative to how the barracks is equipped . Cooking incidents are the majority of fire alarms in the barracks. Usually hotplates and candles are strictly verboten as a rule.

Get an Instant Pot. It's much more versatile and a helluva lot faster

Shouldn’t have a problem so long you are safe and clean with it. Be advised, if you cook in the barracks make sure you count for everyone!

You may have a kitchenette. Once cooking was allowed, the standard used to be the device was required to be UL listed, and required a memorandum (that mainly served to document it was inspected and determined to meet safety requirements). Any advice you receive here, though, does not carry any weight. Life in the barracks has come a long way, and more Soldier friendly, as it should.
