Im currently in the process to enlist in the Army as a prior service but I couldn’t go because I was trying the navy and they had sent a few stuff to MEPS so now I gotta wait for it to be cleared to go for the Army. Does anyone know how it will take to be cleared thank you!

Shouldn’t take long. Few days, perhaps? Now, with your USMC MOS don’t be surprised if to you get stuck as a 19K since you’re already trained. Although, there’s always some exceptions.

Understood LCpl Fabrice Fortune. I will use an analogy to explain how it works for prior service. Remember the head, space, and timing on the M2 machine gun? It has to be set for proper function. Well, the same with prior service. The Army will avoid retrain you. But, if vacancies exists, as determined by Human Resources Command HRC), then you get offered other MOSs.

It’s all based on current USAREC’s business rules. See link, attached them for your info.

Must definitely LCpl Fabrice Fortune. For promotions to employment. Armor formations in the Army are a maneuver element just like an infantry one. Not just a combat multiplier. Hence why the Army has Armor divisions., and brigade size elements.

However, until you sit down with the guidance counselor at the MEPS, there’s no needs to worry on what if’s. Just focus on getting there.
