How long does it take for a new join (ps) to receive an initial issue of uniforms in the National Guard?

Our recruits normally receive one while in the RSP program. It varies by unit/uniform availability but normally they get at least 1 set before they ship.

Now a days most of your stuff will come from CIF. Your TA-50 and uniforms should come from there. If you live close to the issue point, you can pick up the paperwork, schedule an appointment and move forward from there. If not you are at the mercy of the system, good, bad or otherwise.

I had to chuckle here. It all depends on the quality of your supply sergeant. I have seen some wait as long as a year. I have loaned and given my personal uniforms on numerous occasions. One thing I like about the ACU is the velcro name tape makes it easier to take care of soldiers when supply fails.
