I am prior service Navy and I am trying to enlist into the Army. My recruiter and I have completed our end of the Enlistment Process as far as paperwork goes and I am currently waiting to get a date for my Meps physical in order to choose an MOS and ship out. I was told that my status in the Meps database shows me as Navy and Meps must switch it to Army for my physical to be set up. How long should this process take? It has been almost four weeks now since the last document was submitted.

Hmmmm shouldn’t have taken 4 weeks. Are you sure your recruiter didn’t submit a record request for your past documents? A SPF (transferring a record from branch to branch) only takes me a few days. Also, I’ve never had to do a SPF for a prior service, did you try going back to the Navy first? That’s the only reason your record would be underneath the Navy.

Basically your recruiter sent an email to Meps with some of your documents and individuals look through your record to make sure it passes the glance test.

They have to add documents to a share point that MEPS is able to see. That’s besides adding it to your record (system packet) DD214, discharge orders, medical screening, 680, etc. AN Kae Graham
