How long does it take for someone to go back to the E6 board after being demoted to E-5?

Ask your chain of command, they are the ones that would be pushing for you to go back to the board

Your prospects for long term continued service are in severe jeopardy. I would consider what you will do if involuntarily separated from the Army as well.

I'm not sure, but start planning for possible retention control board review. Negative paperwork is a career ender since 2010. It sucks because everyone makes mistakes now and then. I had a PSG that got reduced twice and he made SFC prior to the drawdown.

It would have to be at a minimum a field grade. NCOs can't be reduced by a company grade.
