If you mean MOS 31K in the Army, you might be waiting a long time. It's a small MOS, with very limited class seats, and you're competing against every other qualified applicant on a first-come-first-serve basis. Whoever locks in those class dates when they appear is who gets them.
Class seats are a finite resource like watermelon at a picnic. Once they're gone, you're waiting for the next picnic. If you ABSOLUTELY are only willing to take that MOS, you might be waiting months for a class seat to appear, and that date may be 6 months to a year away.
As for the other services, they have handlers too. But they're smaller branches, so fewer people and fewer class seats.

Tyler Craig motivation is irrelevant here, it's the luck of the draw. First com first serve means whoever (whichever guidance counselor or recruiter) grabs those limited seats when they appear, that's who gets them.
I'd have a backup plan. 80% of something is better than 100% of nothing

look there are damn few of them, its long training- I don't think you can enlist for it, just a regular MP slot, then they select you for K9.

I understand that you have to enlist as MP. Sergeant Major, what I mean is "Does it take a certain amount of years in, rank. Or does being school qualified help speed up things?" I am more than motivated to work hard for that position, but how do I get there?

Right now there are very few jobs available for potential recruits...regardless of ASVAB line scores. I've been recruiting for about a year and a half and have only seen 2 soldiers get 31K. And they were very lucky at that. I'd find a plan B if I were you.

Staff Sgt. I already swore the oath to defend the constitution and I've got my J.R.O.T.C. SAI (former Maj. Green Beret) telling me I should switch MOS's to an SF type. I have a real passion for training Dogs, but I also want to do really awesome "BA" stuff. I want your professional opinion.

You must learn what SF does first before you request that type of work. They do a ton of training other countries and their military. if you're wanting to really have a hands on career, I'd reccomend you go 11X, eventually apply for the 75th and go from there.
My biggest advice...get into the Army for a few years and get some real experience. too many young privates join the Army and want to go straight to the top. Take your time and learn your craft.

SSG (Anonymous) I've done a bountiful amount of research into the different types of SF. From Delta to Greenies and Pararescue to Pathfinders. I understand that no matter the job it will make an impact, however I want something that will allow me to be a big part of saving lives and liberating an oppressed populace.
