I’ve only ever received 1, but I had it in less than 30 days. Talking to others that seems to be about the timeframe if all is submitted correctly.

It takes a month. You won't see it on his LES until after he's been paid.

Tell him to stay in touch with his Retention NCO. They may not have submitted the SRB paperwork in time for it to reflect on this months LES. I believe the cutoff day is the 18th or 20th of each month but I could be off. Retention NCO will probably just tell him, "if you don't see it reflect on this next LES, give me a call".

I too am in the same boat for active duty. I have talked with a a friend that is a career counselor and showed me where the bonus says sent and stated it wouldn’t be much longer. Called DFAS just to see and they had stated that bonuses are extremely behind due to where they are processed at prior to reaching them and that they did not see anything in my record for a bonus to be paid out. I re-enlisted 1 April. I have received the leave I sold back, just no sight of the bonus. SFC (Join to see)

SSG (Join to see) you'll get paid shortly. It hasn't even been a month yet. Plus it's a month from when the counselor confirms the bonus, which could be up to five days later, not the date of reenlistment.

I understand that completely. I would like to believe dfas is wrong about the being so far behind thing just was a little unnerving to hear the person on the other line sayy that he hasn’t seen a bonus paid out in a while and they were told to tell soldiers calling in that it taking a a lot longer because of the group it goes to prior to themSFC (Join to see)

SSG (Join to see) never trust DFAS when it comes to bonuses. They aren't tracking them until they receive them and they pay them immediately. Plus there's only one person who processes them. You'll probably get paid this week.

*Solution* hope this helps! I also had an issue with this, went to retention NCO, readiness, the whole 9, and couldn’t get a straight forward answer; just that the system was down for 6 months and there was a back log nationwide. Long story short and a lot of running around later I finally decided to go straight to the education services office because they have a department there that handles all the education benefits and bonuses. Turns out I should’ve went there first, the NCO there was VERY backed up due to the system being down (he showed me how far down the list I was) so he couldn’t process payments for that entire period. Think about it, education benefits and bonuses not being able to be processed for 6 months, kinda crazy. BUT said he’d review mine and schedule the payment for me since I came in. So anyone having trouble with this, I highly suggest to go there!

Takes up to a month. I have seen it for some only take 2 weeks. If it is more than full pay cycles, he will need to check that retention NCO sent his packet to S1 and that S1 took his packet to DFAS. If both have been done and still no money, he can do a pay inquiry. It will not show up on the LES until the EOM that he is paid in. (I.e paid May 2nd will show on LES June 1st)

It normally takes about a month for an Active Duty Soldier. It is different for a Reservist. The reason is because the paperwork has to be sent in. Then a case needs to be open. That case takes 6 working days to go through. Then you have to include when is the next process transaction date... Finance lingo in there, but it gives you an idea. If you don’t see it in his LES next month, he needs to contact his retention NCO.
