I had a buddy once tell me they were going to give him separation pay of $32,000 he was an E-5 at 9 years. He ended up losing the weight and finishing up his contract normally. I don't know how true that statement is as it's just word of mouth.

SGT (Join to see) - I got out with desperation pay but not cause I was overweight I feared the tape but never busted. I tore my shoulder up that's how I got separation pay

SGT (Join to see) - But when I separated it was 2 months pay per year of service. So mine was equal to 16 months of E6 pay

SGT (Join to see) - You'd have to see the VA and gat a Veteran's advocate (American Legion, VFW, DAV, etc.) for most of that. They will take your RE code and SPD code and tell you what benefits are available to you. The biggest benefit is you aren't barred from reenlistment if your weight comes back down to meet standards.
