I go on terminal April of 2019 and my ETS day is May 10th. I do my phase 1 physical Jan 14th (I plan on claiming stuff) and i am wondering how long after that until I can begin my phase 2?

Based on your separation date you should do it as soon as the blood work comes back from phase 1. Earlier may result in an overlooked evaluation. Thank you for your service.

As soon as you get your phase 1 results. Also, make sure you get a very through evaluation and if possible get a VA phase 2. Additionally, submit your VA disability while in the service. Let me place emphasis on the last: SUBMIT YOUR VA DISABILITY WHILE YOU STILL IN!!!!!

My understanding is that it must be within 180 days.

I didn't do a phase II. my provider recommended getting directly evaluated by VA since my file was well documented. VA told me 60 days out from my terminal leave, which I did. I think I got as good an outcome I could expect.
