Hello spc here trying to get some promotion points to move up in life, but my research is leading me to 2 different answers. One place says you can earn up to 200 promotion points from military education/ correspondence courses and another says the max correspondence courses points you can get is 78 for Sgt and 84 for Ssg. So would anyone know which is true?

If it's 78 points then I'm already maxed out, and would rather not waste my time when I could be putting my focus in other promotion point categories.

SPC (Join to see) - If you are just in it for promotion- that is damn sad, and hopefully your command will pick up om it. You know they Don't have to recommend you to an E5 board, riught.

You can get 80 max points for correspondence hours toward SGT and there is a set amount of hours as well. For example, my PPW says I can get 80 max hours, I’m at 79 and my hours are at 398. So for SPC to SGT it’s max 80 points and max 400 hours. (Computer based training) the 200 max points is for all military education (BLC commandants list, CLS, Combatives)

Correspondence course hours are maxed out at 80. You can receive other training from the army or civilian world to being in more points.
