Back in 1968-1970 I was in Korea, Camp Humphreys (which was just a little compound at the time - nothing like it is now.) For the most part, we worked 7 days a week, of and on, I guess you could say. In most office jobs the normal work hours and work days were the 0800 to 1700 M-F but any job not an office job could extend to 7 days a week. Even some "office" jobs were not really in the office all the time. I am thinking of my time in the S-2 shop. Much time spent on the road. At that time Korean roads were little more than tar & gravel dirt roads. There were a few major roads that were actually paved but moving around in Korea took hours to get from point A to point B. So, in my experience, Korea was busy all the time but the unit to which I was assigned was pretty loose just as long as everything got done. We were pretty much operating full-time 24/7. I loved Korea and would love to return someday.
