I know I joined a motorcycle association to help our own. I am glad I did, because not only do I help our brothers and sisters that need help but the bond in the group is unbelievable.

I ride with America's Guardians MC, a combined military and Public Safety club which requires an FBI background check to join. You don't have to ride a Harley, any bike will do, and we understand that work and family must come before the club. We try to do family friendly things as often as possible.

I belong to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. Great group of Brothers and Sisters, no BS just riding and "Vets Helping Vets".

I ride with Motorcycle Group 33, Veterans of Foreign Wars in McKinney TX and I could not ask for a better group of guys and gals. I cannot tell you how nice it is to go on long runs with them....feels like the old unit bonds back in the day. No prospecting, your service time is your prospect time....enough scars and you put in your dues already....no rank which is essential and focus on all years of vets is key as well - we are well represented in that regard. I would urge each of you to reach out to a vets motorcycle group, CVA, Legion, VFW etc etc. It was a life changing event for me.

I won't ride with a group bigger than three. Just too many variables, too many people. Just too much that can go wrong. Besides, groupthink is ever present in those situations to the point you might as well drive a car along.

Too many people get wrapped up in colors and bikes and forget what riding is all about. They just need to drop all of that and hit the open road and remember why they bought a bike in the first place...freedom.

I have ridden with the Patriot Guard escorting returning Guard Units home and for a couple of funerals...I will always ride to honor but I just don't want to be part of an organized group.

I love to ride. I am quite good on the street, and passable elsewhere. Riding with other people is only fun when they approach your skill and experience level. Most riders I meet ride on the weekends don't focus on the skills and habits and are not people I want to ride with in close quarters.

Riding is fun which means I want to ride with people who enjoy it as much as I do, so I most often ride alone. This is one more reason that riding is like sex.

I briefly thought about it - but just don't have the time to dedicate to it and when I really think about it I prefer to ride by myself or a small group of friends anyway.

Well I ride with a group called Veteran Enforcers Motorcycle Association or VEMA for short. We all are military (active, Veterans), police, first responders, and public service. We do stuff to help our own and give back. I been with them for 3 years and enjoyed every second of it. http://www.vema-usa.com

I have belonged to motorcycle clubs for years, I am the International Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club Webmaster. I have been riding since I was a teenager and love being in the wind. The reason that I joined the GKMMC was for the brotherhood that is within the military itself and the compassion we share. Our club is a mentorship and safety training organization to help keep other military riders safe. We hold mentorship rides, safety days, motorcycle safety classes. We also support veteran events and raise money to help out military members and families that are having hard times. The original club was formed in 1999 at Joint Base M-D-L by several DoD Civilians and Active Duty Members. We are proud of the fact that the current SHAPE Commander is a member of our club. If you are active duty, retired, DoD Civilian, VA employed, or VA Disabled you are eligible for membership as well as your spouses. We also have a program for the children so that the whole family can be members. Check out http://greenknightsmmc.org/.
