How many of you have joined, or thought about joining, a motorcycle group?

I know I joined a motorcycle association to help our own. I am glad I did, because not only do I help our brothers and sisters that need help but the bond in the group is unbelievable.

I perform missions with the Patriot Guard Riders when I can.
I'm also going through the process of joining a veteran's motorcycle association. Their requirements are documented service in combat and owning/riding a motorcycle of at least 750cc's.
I've looked into a few MC's in my area but they all seem to be "Red and White" support clubs (not that I have anything against the Red and White/81), or they claim to be 3-piece clubs that follow the 1% code but don't call themselves a 1% club and also aren't a member of the Coalition of Clubs.

Yeah that's why I never joined a MC myself because they claim not 1% club but do all the stuff as a 1%. That's why I joined an association.

Another reason I don't join an MC, particularly one that's not in the Coalition of Clubs, is the way I understand MC politics if your club isn't in the COC, you don't get any respect from the rest of the MC community.

The US Military Vets MC is not in the COC for reasons I won't go into here, but we are respected by all MCs. Not always liked, but always respected.

If you drive a car and especially a truck you can afford a motorcycle. The savings between the purchase price (unless you want some really fancy bagger to start) they fuel savings, parking fees, and insurance will make the payment. Get the Motorcycle safety training. It not only saves you money on insurance, it can save your life.

I'm glad im riding with the club I'm with. Been with them for over a year now and been to chapters across the country and always felt at home even as a prospect and the brotherhood is very strong as well.

I joined a group which is a troop and first responders support group. We are called Warriors Watch Riders. We provide escorts and flaglines for miltary funerals along with Honor Flight escorts with sometimes upwards of 500 bikes, cages and police escorts. Mother chapter is in philadelphia and we have chapters in multiple states. We wear the traditional back patch but lower rocker isnt a territorial claim. My rockers are U.S. Army , top and Veteran bottom . We use side small rockers to show chapter affiliation. We are probably a 50/50 split between military and patriots and have quite a few female riders. We also have a sister group call A Heros Welcome started by a female Marine Capt. who thought the returning military from the current conflicts were not being honored for their service so started the group approx in 2007 and have received hundreds of requests for welcome homes and escorts . Honored to be an active member and will attend as many missions i can.

Joined a military support group called Warrior Watch Riders . We are a national organization based in Phila PA. We welcome home returning warriors with motorcycle escorts to their homes . Some of our biggest escorts are in coordination with Honor Flight Phila. when we can have upwards of 500 bikes escorting the Vets returning from a great day at the DC memorials. We also support our first responders with similar missions. Our sister organizations are MAWSI , A Heros Welcome etc. .

I'm independent currently was a member of the American Legion Riders for a while but life has had a way of interrupting things I would like to do.
Previously I would associate with a small group of riders, we all knew each other, and we'd go to Marcus Dairy in Danbury CT. on Sunday mornings to socialize and look at all the other bikes which would roll in for the breakfast run.
Currently I'm in the Bible Belt Hell of Miserablesippi. Since my Saturdays are blocked out, and practically no group here ever schedules events for Sundays, independent is the way to go for me.
