How many of you would prefer to wear color Shoulder Sleeve Insignia in garrison environments?

Since the Army moved on to the ASU, the color insignia of individual formations is no longer worn in any uniform. Some commands have made exception for special occasions such as change of command ceremonies or unit redeployments from combat areas. In garrison environments we wear the full color U.S. Flag on the ACU/OCP uniforms, but only wear subdued SSI. Since the SSI are now exclusively velcro backed and easily interchangeable, why not wear full color SSI's in garrison environments?

I think it would instill pride in ones unit and would love to see a colored patch in garrison. I'm game!

I would also add that officers should go back to shiny rank on headgear while in garrison. It is much easier to see for one

I'd rather wear all subdued patches, including the flag. A combat uniform is not meant to be pretty. It is meant to work as camouflage, and with OCP (and MultiCam) we finally have one that does that.

yes, since we have the new ASU when else would you see your unit's color SSI, unless you get a combat identification badge.

Is not the ASU the current combat uniform of the Army? If so, we should train and dress the way we fight.

The ASU is the uniform that replaced the dress blue uniform and the green service uniform. Is the formal uniform like your bravos or alphas. Our blues became our alphas a couple of years back. On the green service uniform we wore color patches. Now we never wear color patches. I'm suggesting garrison wear of color patches in the style that the USMC wears pin on badges in a garrison environment. In the field we would wear subdued everything.
