How many promotion points should I have for promotion?

In October I start to compete in the promotion board to SGT. I just want to know how to estimate how many points I am suppose to have in the 4100 when this one comes. I will post a little of my documents that I think counts as points:
Military funeral honors: 40 hrs/associates degree 54 crs /96 creds towards a bachelors degree/Wqual 33/PT 269/AAM/CLC ROTC advanced camp ( I withdraw from)

It's different for every MOS.. Go to your promotion point worksheet it will tell you how many you have

Well I had a lot of military schools around 30 of them when I went board for E-6 I CAME OFF FROM THE BOARD WITH 889 POINTS GOT PROMOTED 3 MONTHS LATER

The Guard doesn't use a point system, so the only things I know about AD promotions is from studying for soldier of the year board.

The guard does use points but the difference is most states only promote once a year so the points don't get released but once a year. Also, there is no specific number of points to promote. The unit must have a slot, the member must be highly ranked in points and then it goes in order of the promotion list posted. For SPC to SGT, it's usually a BDE level system so that person must have the most points in their MOS within said BDE

SGT (Join to see) - I should have said, "Wisconsin Guard." I shouldn't have assumed that other states did not use a point system. We use a paper board, soldiers are ranked on an order of merit list, but not given points. OML is state wide by MOS.

If you are looking to be promoted, shouldn't you already know where to look for the points? I am not saying this to put you down, but this is the stuff NCOs are supposed to know. I knew before I went over to the S1 to ensure they had everything what would give me points along with how many points. When I became an NCO, I trained my soldiers to know where to look and to see where they may stand after the board.

Just continue to go to school it will work out for you, and get that Bachelors and your Master degree and than see what happen. just remember a smarter soldier make a stronger FORCE.
