good point, MSG (Join to see). I wonder how many annual clothing allowances he has burned through since the new pattern was first announced. By now, he should have at least one uniform.

"1 July 2015 to 30 September 2019 is the uniform transition period. In this window, Soldiers will wear combinations of the three uniforms above, as indicated, until the mandatory possession date of 1 October 2019 when the entire Army will be in the Operational Camouflage Pattern Army Combat Uniform". refer to the attached picture. Also, just FYI the pattern is UCP. We will alsways wear the Army COmbat Uniform (ACU).

Give it another 10 - 15 yeas and the Army will almost certainly come up with something new to replace the ACU and give it some new snazzy names. After all, before the ACU there was the BDU, and before that were the ODs which had their own designation but I'm not sure what it was though.

Cpl Phil Hsueh - Yeah I know uniforms were referred to as BDU's, DCU's, Fatigues. etc. I was just stating that for the time being going through this whole UCP--->OCP change the general name of the ACU will stay the same. In the future I am sure the army will convert to something else and waste our money. Who knows though maybe it will be a change for the good when and if that happens.

With the reverse camouflage mentality that caused DOD to give woodland pattern uniforms to a desert dwelling army, maybe you could give them all to Singapore, Thailand or the Philippines.
