How often (and how thoroughly) do you wash your bike?

Hi all!
I was airing up for a ride yesterday and noticed how dirty the spokes were on the rear. I've had the bike since July and have only really washed it once, and that was because it rode on the rack behind the truck from NC to NJ through some rain and construction dirt.
So how often, and how well, do you wash your bike?
