How often do you come across gym rats that think supplements can replace a good diet?

This drives me crazy. Do some work peope, eat real food, and quit throwing your money away on stuff you dont need! Want to spend some money? Give it to me instead.

The gyms and trainers push that stuff all the time because they get a kickback (sales). Happens in other industries as well as drug companies "free sample" the heck out of doctors to get them to write RXs for the product. They also have all expenses paid trips to a resort for a "seminar" which takes about an hour out of the 3 days. Lot's of rackets everywhere.

I was part of that scheme for a month, Beachbody. Once I fully understood how it worked and that I wasn't "training," just pushing supplements, I had to quit.

Gym Rats including yours truly tried to eat healthy and we loaded up on smoothies and protein drinks with the right ingredients...However several who I trained at Gold's Gym were taking steroids to get lean and mean...one of them almost died from kidney failure and I had warned him before he dam near bought the farm

I've seen more than a few stories about that. Apparently, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and a few other notable names take differing types of steroids as well.

SGT (Join to see) - The Muscleheads at Golds purchased their steroids and performance enhancing pills online & they had some doctors give them prescriptions for performance drugs because many of them were injured when lifting heavy weights. And they found some Doctors who prescribed these drugs to help them heal.. I never touched any of those drugs or steroids and the Muscleheads thought I was not with the program They called one Doctor...Doctor Steriods...he would write a prescription for steroids but he charged big bucks for his fees..
This was one of the reasons I quit as a Trainer in 2008...and was getting too long in the tooth..70+ years old.. & had health issues that come with the aging process.

Everyday I go to the gym, lol. I also have good friends always looking for a supplemental edge. I used cell and nitro tech 14 years to aid in protein supplementation and weight gain but I only cycled through those for a year and that's it.
