Not nearly as much as I’d like to but always feels like no time has past when we do.

I connect with my battle buddies pretty often. We have a group chat in which we keep in touch and check in from time to time. A few of us have gotten together a few times and we often plan future meeting dates and times. It’s great to get to see them and have a beer.

A few times a month. My battle buddy was Liz Pulliam & she and I met in Afghanistan. She was a civilian with the Defense Language Institute teaching the Afghans English. She would always notice someone singing in the restroom & realized it was me & from there, we worked out together, prayed together, went to Zumba together; she even taught me how to clean & disassemble/reassemble my weapon & I was the one in the service. We still pray together over the phone & encourage one another.

I was in during peace time. Late 70's. Back in the 70's we really didn't have a way to keep in touch, as each time you moved you got a new telephone number. It's not like today with phone numbers that follow you and social media.

I probably connect with my battle buddies aside from drill a few times out the month. Some of us link up and go out for food and whatnot. Two of my close battle buddies happen to be neighbors of mine.
