How's your relationship with your doctor or provider? Do you trust their advice?

Quality seems to vary depending on the location. For instance, I've heard good things about the VA hospital near San Francisco. Then again, they're probably very well paid seeing how the Bay Area in general is a very affluent area.

For me my provider at the VA seems more like a supervisor when it comes to my care. They know a lot about stuff and they have my file of visits and they give me advice but if they don't know exactly or knows that I will get a better quality from somebody else then they refer me to that specialist. For example my mental health stuff, I'm sure he would do a good job but has refereed me to behavioral health and I'm thankful for the referral because I'm getting what I need from them. And when my shoulder was giving me problems he refereed me to physical therapy.
