How soon after a car accident should I have to take a PT test?

I was injured in a car accident in May, I was treated in the hospital for multiple days and discharge with the Major traumatic brain injury as well as open wounds. My section chief has been adamant about making me take a PT test even though I’m injured. I have told him and sent paperwork that shows I am in no condition to be running on a wounded leg. He agrees and then a few days later comes back again asking for the PT test. I am in the National Guard. I have no history of failed PT tests or disciplinary action.

Take all of your civilian medical documents and make a visit with a military care provider to get all of your stuff listed onto an official DA Form 3349.

One thing I want to point out that many new soldiers don't consider when they receive a profile: your profile includes all recovery time from injury to include being able to get your fitness at a level capable of passing the APFT. The day your profile is over you need to be ready to take an APFT.

PFC (Join to see) Unless you have profile on file, you are required to take the PT test. You need to start the process to have a MTF convert your civilian care and recommendations to the Army's, including getting a profile, if deemed necessary. You can inquire through your UA how to start the process.

Without a valid profile you have no alternative. Take your paperwork to the medics and talk to the mil. physician.
