I am in the army reserves and I just had my first reenlistment on sept 16 and I’m supposed to receive a 20K bonus. When should I see this bonus?

I'm also wondering where the heck my bonus is. My ETS date was 28AUG2018 so, my re-enlisment bonus of $20K should have been processed the days after my ETS. All of my paperwork was processed on 03SEP2018 and I'm good to go in DJMS, Iperms, and HRC. I'm not sure what the problem is. Everyone else in my unit received there bonus within 15-20 days after there ETS. I'm usually not this mad about something, but playing the waiting game for a bonus makes me furious. The career counselor has told me to just check my LES everyday and hopefully it show up.

i reenlisted for 20k also. My ETS was 08302018 and I see no indication of payment or even LES. My career counselor sent a email to RPAC but said it could take 7-10 business days to hear back. More waiting games.

There is currently a delay of two to three weeks on some bonuses right now. It will come, otherwise check with your Career Counselor.

My re-enlistment papers came with a bunch of papers. Including information on the bonus. It has guidelines on disbursement times on when to recieve however much amounts. It will also tell what will make you forfeit the bonus. Do you have these attached to your re-enlistment contract?

No Sgt Ramirez, I’m still trying to get retention to give me a copy of my contract. He wouldn’t give it to me. He gave me the run around about it needing to be sent up first

SSG (Join to see) if you check online in your army portal, your re-enlistment contract is uploaded to your documents. Go to HRC, click on your documents, and you should be able to download a copy of your contract there. As for your bonus, look for a different file inside the documents tab that states "bonus addendum", the blue pdf link should say something like 600-7.

No problem. Hope you find what you're looking for. If not, you can always ask your COC or call your RPAC. Good luck

How soon should I see my reenlistment bonus?

It typically takes 1-2 pay periods to process. With the fiscal year ending, I would wait until next year. If you don't see it by November, I would talk to your local RPAC or contact DFAS

I just noticed that you're 42A. You probably have more access to resources in your section.

Sadly I don’t Sfc Squires. There are a lot of accesses I don’t have that my section ncoic is trying to get for me. Til then I’m seeking out as much understanding from others who may have gotten enlistment and reenlistment bonuses. Not too many soldiers within my BN have gotten bonuses or have a clue as to how they work. 1SG (Join to see)

trying to research my question For a good couple months

I will start off by pointing out that I have tried going to the Sergeant & those handling my retention & reenlistment papers, and including my own battery leadership. They keep shooing me away or "I will have to ask and see" response. ( Just wanted to say all that to help narrow the answer)

My bonus is in fact in writing within my reenlistment contract.
The bonus is $20,000. First half upfront 2nd halfway through.
Also I do understand that all the standards to be expected in how it can be flagged etc etc.

So my reenlistment and new contract effective date started on the date of my old ETS date which was 09/ 06/ 2018.. and yes I do understand the fact that the money is going to take a little bit of time getting it.

So the main question I have is this,

"Does my bonus start processing (not necessarily receiving) processing on the date that my new contract goes into effect? "

Which would be on the date of my old ETS date of that September 6 . But The bonus is a thing attached to my new contract and when the new contract goes into effect, unless stated otherwise in the contract, then so does everything else within it, correct?

The reason why I'm asking is because as you stated in your article October is the beginning of the new fiscal year. Now my effective date of my new contract was September 6
( Now before I even say this next part for all the other ones who want to comment negatively or say "well justquit being a lazyF and pass it, just know I am now raising 2 boys on my own a 1 year old and 3 month old, my house just forclosed, and I have been passing the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) for the past 5 years but it's now become the principal of the matter because my unit (nor any unit)is not and should not make things harder for a struggling soldier, especially! who's served and with the unit 9+ years, 2 deployments, and is one of the hardest workers they have ..the only thing that I do wrong is I'm sometimes 5 -10 mins late bc my unit is over an hour away from where I live. I just had to put that in their because in the midst of me researching for my answer I have seen some harsh scolding )

So come the following month I think your ways probly around the 14th or 15th of October they wanted to have APT test which is normal for the new fiscal year. While I felled the run By I don't know 15 seconds maybe. But the point that I am trying to get to and ask about is this period

At 1st i was just telling myself its going to take a little bit thats all. But then November came so I asked..They told me since I failed the APFT, again in October....that now my bonus would be flagged & I won't be receiving it until That I have passed it...
...last months drill (November)(Army National Guard) I was not even given the chance to retake it bc of "Pass and Review " and family day.......yeah... But point being is that my new contract went into affect in September not October so how can October being a new fisical year and a whole month later be anything to do with the 1st sum (not the 2nd)

And i see contact this person or contact this person, where would i even find the contact for that person??? My unit is not much of a ..hmmm...idk the proper words...they don't care to help if it means more work for them.
