How to best identify service members in an historical picture?

a friend of mine gave me a picture of a group of marines and civilians from 1977 PMO at Lejeune, her father is having heart failure and we'd like to get identification of the people in the picture before things possibly get worse. He's in the picture also... is there a way to do this other then someone randomly knowing who the people are?
