I messed up and received a DUI just recently and along with it I faced charges in court and a GOMOR. I am now being told that even though i am not going to get demoted or article 15, incould face QMP which can lead to separation. Is this something i can overcome? What can i now now to mitigate the damage? With the army increasing its capacity , and mot meeting its recruiting goals, is there a shot I could be retained?

SSG (Join to see) info about QMP. did you file a rebuttal to the GOMOR? even with the Army not meeting recruiting goals, I would think retention is a slim shot. hopefully, this DUI was an isolated incident. I wish you the best of luck with however this turns out.

The DUI will trigger the QMP during the centralized selection board. It doesn't matter whether your GOMOR is filed locally or in your permanent file, if it's annotated on your NCOER then it will be tough to overcome. You can write a letter to the present of the board but it's a double edge sword.
