I was doing field rotation that had open showers and had a thought about Transgender personell and how the be treated by other personell. I talked to a female an she said she upset if transwomen in her shower if they still had there male genitals. I asked a male the same thing and he said he wouldn't care. He said "If they identify as a man I will treat them like a man". How would you personally feel about this.

Maybe America should Adopt a European point of view stop viewing everything sexually and when you see a woman man naked don’t sexualize it, which means a lot of people have to GROW UP, and when it comes to mission readiness you make that individual who wants to transition meet certain requirements and that requirement means they have to do the Gender PT Standards, height weight standards and along with that they have a contract with a certain amount of years they need to be on Active Duty

That's fine as far as it goes, but most men are visually stimulated. I can predict a higher than normal incidence of fraternization and inappropriate relationships.

Forcing women to shower with a person with still intact male genitalia is wrong. Once the transgender has the complete operation and now has a vagina, no problem. There should still be some sexual privacy based on the "junk" you still possess. Self Identifying is not reality. I can self identify as a six-foot-seven Black NBA player, but that does not make it a reality.

Could the Transgender person end up filing a Lawsuit POST-Surgery and blame Military Psychiatric/ Surgical Staff and Command for " Buyer's Remorse " type of situation????

No because its a long process in the military with mandatory Psychiatric and Psychological appointments unlike the civilian world where its possible for adults to slip through the system. When you sign informed consent paperwork saying you understand all of the risks you are pretty much out of luck.

They can try but having knowledge of the process first hand I will say the outcome is a solid NO!

I’m a fan of science, and common sense, and reality. You can claim to be whatever you want, but you cannot change your dna, you cannot change your chromosomes. You are born male or female. There are about a dozen verified accounts of hermaphroditism. Everyone else has a mental health disorder. Giving people with a mental health issue a weapon and sending them to combat training seems like a bad idea. You can cut off whatever you want, sew on anything you want, it doesn’t change you, just your appearance. Be whatever you want to be, but the military is not for everyone.

This is what equality looks like. Women wanted equality now they have it! The problem is that now women have reached parity with men in the military some men are wanting to be women just so they don't have to meet the higher standard. Do women who consider themselves men in the military have to do PT under their former gender, or do they have to meet the higher male standard? This same question applies to men who want to be women in the military. It's time to eliminate the requirement for young men to register for the draft, or start requiring women to register for the draft. The trans issue shouldn't be considered a civil rights issue, it should be treated like the mental disorder that it is.

You're making my point, so you do recognize there are differences between men and women. Why are there men who want to be women, if women haven't met parity with men?

The cases you speak of is very rare, and science does in fact tell us the gender of the child is determined by the male. XX=Female XY=Male. You can try and go around this simple fact, but it is still an immutable principle.

SGT Jeff Everhart - You misrepresent the science. Gender is assigned at birth based on presented external sex organs, not chromosomes. Science indicates that there are more chromosomal arrangements for biological sex than just XX and XY. Short of a karyotype analysis, we all assume the majority of people have either XX or XY. We base our social interactions on presented sex characteristics like genetalia, body shape, and body hair, etc.; all of which are the result of chromosome alignment and hormone production, both of which can be out of alignment with the gender assigned at birth.
Define "very rare", because it seems as if you have some bad information. Klinefelter (XXY) is 1 in 500 males, which is treated with hormone therapy (gender affirming) before puberty.

There are some individuals who are born with both sets of male and female reproductive organs, but again this is very rare. 99% of the population is born with xx or xy chromosomes and these are what determines the gender of each individual. Do either gender have not attributes of the opposite gender of course, but it doesn't make them that gender.

I can not believe all this bullshit that is going on in the Army today. The Army is bending over backwards for goofy groups that should not EVEN be in the military to begin with.

This is just downright stupid. We need to go back to the days of don’t ask don’t tell. It’s not the personal side of it that offends me, it’s the fact that we have to cater to everybody that thinks there different sex than what they were born or a different thing altogether. One day he’s a man the next day he’s a woman and the next day he’s a mixture of both and then the next day he identifies as a brown cow. This is a waste of time and money. Don’t pay for transition to whatever these things are, try to treat the mental conditions and the real issues behind it. The mission of the United States military is to fight, win wars not worry about he, they transition services and all the money and time it takes to pay for this . The military is just become away from people to join and get their sex change paid for.

I agree 100% I’m old school, our military needs to be prepared to fight and win wars, the enemy does not care about feelings or pronouns or any of that bullshit.
