Thanks in advance! I take the leave back home from 12/19-01/02 and head straight to Carson. However, my wife, kids, home and vehicles are back in California. Does this mean I would report to Carson on the 3rd, and possibly have to go back home to pick up my family? I understand the Army will pay for the movers to get my items, however I have two vehicles and was planning on just driving. Also, will waiting to get an on post house take a while while my family waits in CA? Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.

That’s a heck of a lot of leave for someone in AIT to take at once. Are you going to be in the negatives?

Your unit will explain your courses of action that can be taken to facilitate your move

Unfortunately I will be. I’d rather not have to leave to get my things so I plan on using my block time to pack/bring a vehicle load out there. I just don’t know where I will be housed at in meantime. Just considering most efficient ways

Our recommendation is to visit https://www.carson.army.mil/contact.html, find the staff duty number for new unit and connect with the unit directly. Let them know of your situation and get the advice you need there.
