This weekend, we have the opportunity to take some time to honor our fallen heroes. While many consider it just a day to BBQ, many take time to give thanks to those men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. How will you spend the weekend? How will you honor their sacrifice?

My local American Legion Post will be commemorating our Korean War memorial, and holding a static display of various equipment and uniforms of various periods of conflict.

I usually spend my Memorial Day weekend cleaning headstones at a small cemetery where a few of my family who were vets are buried.

Here in Pocatello, there is a memorial set up that is put on every year. It's called the Field of Heroes. There is a cross (with names) for every person killed since at least WW2. I will probably go to that and pay my respects.

Excellent question, Master Sergeant. My family and I will be going to the veterans' cemetery here for a service. And we always explain the significance of the day to our children.
