How would life be for a married SPC reclassifying to a 31E? Would I be able to travel to the different duty stations with my wife?

No, not really. That's one of the most restrictive MOS's as far as duty stations go. I hope you like JBLM and Leavenworth a whole lot. Hopefully your spouse likes them too

Don’t do it. Leavenworth is the worst place you can be at and more than likely you will be stationed there. There’s horrible leadership there. You’d be better off trying to pick up a trade in the Army Or go 31K.

I would also add, leavenworth has been on permanent 12 hour shifts since last year (which are actually 14 hour shifts if you include PT after shift and other junk they make you do.)

This is hard. It really depends on your wife's MOS but I would guess we have more than 50 percent of the 31E positions here at Ft Leavenworth and except for the support staff at the DB and the MPs we have very few other enlisted positions (especially junior enlisted positions). The closest installation which is Ft Riley is a couple of hours away and not a very good fit for joint domicile; although I guess you could like in Topeka and both have long commutes.
