I would tell whoever was complaining to shut the hell up and show some respect for a family that has made the ultimate sacrifice. I do not have patience for anyone that would complain about having to wait for such an event.

Personally I would not say a thing. AS the family is leaving and walking past me I would do my best to stand at attention and salute.
