A big change that I don't see many talking about is the electronic health record and the impact on not accepting a recruit for medical reasons. This is an area where recruiters can't do much, can't argue much. It is like a referee in a football game being able to throw a flag and it ends the game. What happens at times is technology adjusts but the yardstick by which we measure things does not. The Electronic Health Record has made it such that every single thing that has happened to a potential recruit in their life is on full display and so for example someone who has had multiple concussions due to playing sports is flagged as oh, not sure, this could be a problem. The military should want people who have lived a real life, played sports, worked as a team, known pain, suffering, and recovered from it. It's a good thing.

Have to play to the military strengths. Every veteran tells a story. Most modern veterans wrap the good in the middle and exemplify the bad, but even with those bad we wouldn't trade those experiences. Real talk is what encourages boys. Like 12 mile rucks with 75lbs after an jump at 4a. Easy to see the hardship, it's that difficulty that enhances its value. Every man wants to be great and the military accomplishes some amazing movie style things constantly and that's where the push should start from.

The military needs to be an uniform service. We used have the same standards across the board. Now of you want a beard or a ponytail that is all right with us. It is not we train and fight together it is you can be whoever or whatever you want and people do not trust that you have their back. If people joined and understood that we are from all walks of life and areas of the country but we all have to maintain the same accountability for our actions that might help. The military should not be a place that can showcase how we are different but how we are the same and working for the good of the country and the people we are called to protect and serve. The social experiment has failed and we need to start showcasing the greatness of our country and military personnel.

People don't think that the military is where educated people go. Show them Ivy-leaguers, and you'll see what happens.

I would say that is where the Ivy-leaguers go, and have examples of veteran Ivy-leaguers who have changed the military to represent an educated population.

1. End the illegal, immoral, unconstitutional "wars."
2. Get rid of Biden and all Democratic-Marxist Party control of the DOD. No more woke generals like Milley, saying the number one threat to the United States is "white supremacism."
3. Cut the Pentagon budget by half and put the Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard on OUR borders with the primary mission of guarding OUR borders, not Korea's, Germany's, Ukraine's or Israel's; in other words, a real Constitutional mission. Put the Navy in the Gulf of Mexico and coast patrols with the same mission (plus drug interdicting). Plenty of family members would get motivated and "fired up" by this real mission for American citizens.
4. Create a military retirement pension plan that VESTS with 5 years of service. A matching 401k, like civilian jobs in most city halls.
5. Build more VA hospitals, especially in states that have only one, and add full DENTAL and OPTOMETRY services for all vets. The VA should provide FREE transportation from anywhere in the state, with PAID VA professional drivers -- not like it is now, barely functional with volunteer DAV drivers. The new recruits DO know how vets are treated on the back end, after they leave service. Keep the promise at VA.
6. Limit the number of foreign nationals (aliens) who can enlist and make them pass an English test. Allow them to join ground combat units only; i.e., primarily Army infantry and Marines. For those with a clean service record of 5 years, give them a streamlined path to naturalization/citizenship fairly quickly. The should come from only close allies in good standing: Mexico, South Koreans, Filipinos, Europeans, Finns, Australians, New Zealanders.

It’s time to initiate the draft. Most of the young people today need to learn discipline, duty, honor and respect. Get rid of the woke culture politics.

The majority cannot pass the drug, weight, PT, and arrest record tests today. It's a nation of failed parents. What defense do they deserve, when we have an open border and are funding the defense of Ukraine and Israel with billions of dollars instead?

Add social media to the list. Everything is fubar. I hate to get political here, but Harris is a progressive left liberal promoting socialism and woke culture. She’s a liar, trying to pass as a moderate to get elected. 4 years of her and it will be far worse than the Biden years. Probably unrecoverable.

Unfortunately these days in America, there’s no fix for it unless you can take the standards back to pre 1980. Today men are women and women are men so unless we put GOD first and dispose of all Democrats there’s No fix

Thousands of veterans would love nothing better than spending time recruiting! Some would do it for free, and some could use the money. I would love to be involved as it would help reduce the pressure on current duty soldiers on recruiting assignments.
