I am a cadet in AROTC at Georgia Tech. Based on the details I posted below, what my odds were of assessing active duty MI?

It may have changed since I went through, but the two biggest factors on where you fell on the OML were GPA and your rating from LDAC. If you haven't been to LDAC, it may be the deciding factor. You can also try branch detail or ADSO.

A lot will depend on where you are on the OML. It also depends on how many MI officers are needed in the Army when you commission. It's a crapshoot really. When I went through ROTC they would divide all commissioning cadets by thirds. Everyone wanted to be in the top third naturally and assumed that meant they'd get what they wanted. But the Army can't really do that. The reason is that there are some MOS' in high demand and others that are in very low demand. If every cadet in the top third wanted Infantry and got it, it would leave the bottom third cadets going to the branches "nobody wanted". But those branches need good officers too. So some top third cadets got want they wanted. But a friend of mine who was about as high speed as they come, didn't. You just roll the dice and see what happens.

Cadet SSG (Join to see), depends what your peers are doing. This is a meritocracy. The 30 hours of work is a wash. Good on you though. I worked through college as well. Not sure how the summer camp stacks up in your OML now days, but it was a big deal in the past. Getting a 4 or a 5 was necessary to be sure you'd get what you wanted. Your GPA is strong...but mine wasn't. I got what I wanted based off of tactical ability and leadership qualities. My GPA was not good. This is hard to measure. Again it depends on what your peers look like and where the PMS puts you on the OML. You're probably better off than most. If I had to put money on it, I'd say that you've got an 80% chance, but it's just a SWAG. Make sure you have some good options you're willing to live with. Branch detail if you have to.
