I am a tanker who’s unit doesn't currently have tanks.So my unit is encouraging me to attend a school. What schools should I consider?

If you were in the Marine Corps I would advise you to switch to 0311 that is a Riflemen, of course all Marines are basic Riflemen. Don't know what the training would be like, it's been 54 years since I was in. I'm sure things have changed.

And if your at bliss I can put you in contact with someone who will square you away.

Hey brother I am retired a 1SG a year ago and you can get those schools as a tanker because I had airborne and air assault. Don’t let anyone tell you can’t because that’s what they all said to me. Just go to the schools guy and each battalion has some many slots and a lot of times no one goes and they send you.

I know this post is old, but if still looking for schools. U-COFT I/O, Gunnery Evaluators Course, Tank Commanders Course which are prerequisites for Master Gunners. A good spot to be in.

I would consider Green to Gold. Only way to get prior Enlisted Officers is to be the one to Commission. Pick a solid degree and branch and you’ll be set up for when you decide you want to get out

If your young and in good health request to go to Airborne School or Ranger, your Army and you deserve to attend any unit that you might think you are fit for , but be aware that it's going to be a more that you are asking for, I am also a Tanker trained on the M60 A-1, I wanted to go Airborne, but needed to relisted the ex didn't like the military life, but I did, this is one message to you if you are going to make a career in the Army stay single it will work better for you will always love them and leave them until the time comes to wed, but in the mean time HOOAH!
