It is 42 weeks long. What if there are no open slots at the reserve units in the surrounding areas?

Maybe she can go into the inactive ready reserve and become an individual mobilization augmentee and join a unit nearby or do missions in the inactive ready Reserve. I knew a major who was on ados orders who was on for 6 months at Fort Sam Houston working for 5th army army North serious he was working alongside me even though I was on 52 day title 10 orders. She will have justification for going into the irr for a while but it may take some time. Or, she could drill with the other unit and be reimbursed for travel expenses up to $500 if she is over a hundred and fifty miles away. Let's see what others have to say.

I agree I can see if her wife was active also but she is reserve so her unit will understand.

Not sure about the whole reserve situation but any AIT over 20 weeks authorizes dependents to locate there with you. You can contact the reserve component there at Huachuca and they should be able to help you with the reserve situation.

I am active duty, but my wife is in the reserves. Will she be able to move with me when I reclass to 35T?

Your wife would be able to PCS with you. As far as a reserve home, she can RST with a unit in the area until you graduate and have a final PCS location. If you find a unit out there and transfer to it while you are still at school she will only be at the unit for a short period of time then have to transfer again. I have allowed a few Soldiers to do this in the past.

Because there might not be any open slots at the reserve units in Fort Huachucha. I’m just trying to ask for clarification because this will be our first PCS. I wasn’t sure how it works with active and reserve.

Either way she is going to move right?

But on another note she can actually drill with another unit until she finds another unit just let her unit know! SGT(P) (Join to see)
