I am almost 32 and broke both ankles last summer. Should I try to go back into the service?

I served 5 years in the Marine Corps, with an honorable discharge in 2011. I have since finished a bachelor's degree, and was thinking of going back into the service as an officer. One problem : I broke both ankles in a motorcycle accident last summer and now have extensive hardware in each one. Should I take the chance on going back if the Air Force will even have me? I understand the risks to myself, but the last thing I want is to put others at risk as well.

If they think you are a risk they won't take you. If you want it go for ut

Talk with a recruiter, they'll have you undergo a medical exam. They may not be willing to take you if service will aggravate an existing injury as they would then become liable.
On a separate note, for ankle injuries, air draw the alphabet with you big toe (draw an "A," then "B," etc.) everyday. This will help strengthen, hopefully preventing future injuries.

Go for it! MEPS will decide if you’re good to go or not. No need to decide you can’t on your own when there are people who’s whole job is to decide that haha
