I am currently AGR as a Transportation Management Supervisor. Is it possible to go 882A (Mobility Warrant) without giving up an AGR position?

I was AGR enlisted 27D when I dropped my packet for warrant officer: Legal Administrator (270A). In my case and because of my branch (JA) I had to give up AGR once I got picked up. They gave me 90 days to leave the program and then I became a regular drilling reservist (TPU) to start going to WOCS, WOBC, etc. I reapplied for the AGR program once I completed WOBC and 2 years and 4 months after having given up my enlisted AGR spot, I got lucky and was selected for a warrant AGR position. I think AGR to AGR is dependent of the branch you select but in my case I did have to give it up to reapply. I would talk to your Regional warrant officer accessions officer and see what your branchs SOP is regarding soldiers in your case.

Thank you! Best response yet! That large gap in between AGR tours is what I was hoping to avoid. I would love to go warrant, but is it worth the risk of losing my AGR position? I am not sure yet. Thanks for your response and advice. I will definitely reach out to the regional warrabt officer accessions.

It's also dependent on the type of warrant you're going to become and if they have spaces available already for AGR warrants. In my case, it took that long until a position became available but then also, it was a lucky thing as it took me a long time to go through WOCS ( I actually went twice due to an injury that took me attending the second time a year later) and complete my WOBC which only happens once a year. Anything going wrong could've changed the timeline and maybe someone else could've been picked if i wasn't educationally qualified when that open opportunity came to fruition. Legal Administrators are a very small group but other warrant groups may be bigger and have more positions available that they may be desperately trying to fill. Doesn't hurt to ask! Good luck with your decision and always remember to follow your heart guided by good judgment towards your responsibilities, goals and dreams! God speed!

It is more than likely that the AGR slot will have to be given up as it is more than likely for an enlisted Soldier and not WO.

I am sorry, let me rephrase my question. I am AGR in the Reserves, so we PCS all over the world. What I am asking is if I will have to get out of the program and reapply when I get Chief? Or just get picked up and PCS to a position for a warrant? Thanks for the help!
